Model: CCOT - Computerized Cyber Optic Triangulation

Manufacturer: Rosboron

Intent: To create a versatile optic system that helps turn smartweapons into an extension of the user, allowing them to make use of the weapons 'smart' features when aiming, either a pitched intense close quarters fight, or to help them to augment their marksmanship skills.

It's intended for anyone who can buy the optic, but the optic itself doesn't take the place of natural skill. Skill is what differentiates the amateurs with money from the true professionals.

Type: Computerised optic

Power Supply: Feeds off an internal battery cell that lasts for roughly a week without charging. The cells are replaceable, allowing for them to be changed out while another is charging.

Sensors: Infrared, laser rangefinder, anemometer, barometer and humidity sensor.

Size: Depends on the model, analogous to conventional optic of comparable magnification.

Description: The CCOT series of 'smart optics' are designed to take advantage of smartguns' advanced features. The connects to the weapon, and syncs with it's own laser rangefinder, then queries the weapon's computer to ascertain what caliber the weapon is chambered in, and consults it's in-built ballistic constants table.

This process happens when the scope is mounted and synced initially. When firing, the user marks the intended target, the ranging laser ascertains the distance between the firer and the target, and then makes any aiming corrections required based on the effect that temperature, humidity, wind conditions, coriolis effect and pressure have on that particular round.

It also has an IR vision mode, displaying in white contrast, black contrast or red hues depending on user preference. Because the optic outputs what can be seen from it, it can be used to look around corners without potentially exposing the user to fire.

There are several models, ranging from a basic 2-4x32 all the way up to a 8-80x56. As with most Rosboron products however, it is expensive. While EMP resistant, it will still disable the optic system for two minutes while the system reboots. Additionally, these optics offer no benefits to weapons that are not 'smartlinked'.
