Model: TSVS (Tikhiy Snayper Vintovka Systema), or in the English translation of it's expanded acronym, Silent Sniper Rifle System.

Size: Large

Legality: Restricted to Russian Special Forces and select elements of GRU and SVU.

Faction: Russian Special Forces and select elements of GRU and SVU.

Manufacturer: TSNIITOCHMASH

Intent: To create a covert anti-material rifle for use by SSO operators guarding their facility, as well as for any stateside clandestine operations that GRU or SSU agents or SSO operators under GRU jurisdiction may be involved in. The round's stopping power makes it excellent for penetrating cover in urban scenarios and is perfect for use as a covert anti-material rifle in an urban environment.

With a rifle like this, tasks like assassination, sabotage and espionage become all the more easier for Russian operatives on US soil, who like most other corporate operatives, operate to hamper other companies. With this rifle in their hands, the number of places targets can hide reduces dramatically. Armored glass and Armored cars become less of a concern for an operatives with the right amount of initiative. Manticore's rise has troubled those in power, and this rifle may be one of the necessary tools required to do what must be done.

The TSVS is a bullpup sniper rifle system based around the company's new smart bleed gas system which he either prevents gasses from venting if the weapon is using subsonic rounds or allows gasses to escape when using supersonic rounds. Like most weapons that it supplies to Russian special forces, the weapon is smartlinked.

Sensors all over the gun report the weapons
condition, orientation, balance and weight to the users neural processor, where the smartgun interface integrates this with
the users actions.

The weapon features a computer controlled smart grip system that uses memory plastic to adjust to the user's hand. Additionally, the onboard computer can transmit diagnostic information to either a cyberoptic or HUD system.

The weapon's exterior is sandblasted and then reacted with phosphate to create a corrosion resistant matte black coating. Dry surface lubricant keeps the weapon lubricated, leaving only cleaning to the user.

Security features ensure that only an authorized member of the SSO, GRU or SVU who interface with the weapon via the interface can fire the weapon. In any other case, the weapon's firing mechanism remains locked, and the weapons computer offline. There is no network uplink to allow the weapon to be hacked remotely, and any unauthorized attempts to open the casing will trigger a small C4 charge in the case, destroying the complex systems that the rifle is built on.

It is certainly possible to get around these features when connected into the weapon manually, but that will take time. Additionally, it is no small feat to be able to take the weapon from those who use it, and to do so will surely being down the wrong kind of attention on said individual or group of individuals.

The weapon can fire a wide variety of 12.7x108 rounds, and it's on board computer is capable of distinguishing subsonic from supersonic rounds.

Despite being a bullpup weapon constructed from modern weapons, it is still heavy and unfeasible to use in close quarters, even if particularly skilled marksman can still make it for the relatively slow rate of fire in medium range.

12.7x108 is not a common cartridge in the United States, especially when compared to .50 BMG (12.7x99). User's will have to seek fesh ammunition from the various export firms at something of a premium. Specialist ammo is even more of a rarity. Ammunition is incidentally heavier than most other rifle ammunition (14.5x114 is heavier, but we're stepping into anti-tank rifles here), making carrying large quantities difficult.

For an already expensive weapon, it neither includes an optic, nor a bipod. This can make a fully outfitted weapon quite expensive, and sometimes operatives and operators find they are unable to requisition such things for their rifles, making replacing damaged accessories a daunting task, not to mention outfitting the weapon in the first place.
